‘PALMOS’ – palmós
The name PALMOS comes from the Greek word ΠΑΛΜΟΣ, meaning ‘vibration’ or ‘pulse.’
In horology, Vibrations Per Hour (VPH) is a key measure for mechanical movements, describing how often a watch’s regulating organ completes its cycle in one hour.
It reflects the heartbeat of time, a rhythm that brings life to every automatic watch.
Thanos Repanas is the visionary behind PALMOS.
With a background in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s in Sustainability, he has worked on renewable energy projects and sustainable building design. Α foundation that deeply informs his approach to watchmaking.
His designs draw from modernist principles, the raw honesty of Brutalist architecture, and the quiet elegance of traditional Japanese aesthetics. Each PALMOS watch reflects a considered balance of form and function, where engineering, design, and environmental awareness converge.
